Hursley Village Info is a network of over 200 users based in the parish of Hursley in Hampshire. They use a private social networking platform to communicate with the community and keep members in touch with what is happening in the village.
The organisers of the network needed to find a simple method of communicating with the community for time sensitive information.
Hursley Village Info moved across to Textlocal after using another SMS provider and finding their process too complicated. Messenger’s simple interface allows the organisation to send out messages calling the community to action for time-sensitive issues such as a missing child or adverse weather.
Messenger was integrated with their existing community platform to make sending messages quicker and easier. Fundraisers competing in a local 10k race had their individual results sent to them via text straight after the race, which could have been a lengthy, laborious process without the assistance of the integrated Textlocal platform allowing personalisation of mass messages.
We have found ourselves using the service more and more as other groups wish to hook up to the service our community is providing; Textlocal is now a valuable part of this service.
